The Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts newly modernised and reopened in October 2025 is Nigerias flagship destination for culture creativity performance and global-standard events. Home to world-class theatres stunning exhibition halls learning spaces and dynamic multiuse venues the Centre is poised to redefine Africas creative future.
We are inviting applications from an exceptional forward-thinking Managing Director to lead this iconic institution into its next era of growth innovation artistic excellence and commercial success.
THE ROLE
The Managing Director will:
- Set and deliver the Centres strategic vision governance framework and operational excellence.
- Build strong and diversified revenue streamsticketing venue hire partnerships sponsorships grants merchandise and new commercial opportunities.
- Oversee daily operations programming facilities safety compliance and the guest experience.
- Lead inspire and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
- Strengthen partnerships across government private and public sector collaborators global cultural bodies and the creative industry ecosystem.
- Curate a robust calendar of local and international programmes aligned with global benchmarks.
- Champion digital innovation sustainability and continuous improvement.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in Arts Management Business Administration Architecture Cultural Studies or related fields (Masters/MBA highly preferred).
- 1215 years of senior leadership experience in culture/creative industries entertainment large-scale infrastructure hospitality financial services or related sectors.
- Proven success in commercial operations revenue generation fundraising and financial stewardship.
- Exceptional leadership stakeholder engagement negotiation and people-management skills.
- Strong understanding of Africas creative economy and international best practices in venue management.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity inclusion and institutional excellence.
