Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist (Registered) - Contract
Location: New York NY 10011
Schedule: 5 days/week
Hours: 7 hours/day (35 hours/week)
Position Overview
The Registered Ultrasound Technologist performs and assists with a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations. This role supports Radiologists during imaging procedures ensures proper operation and maintenance of equipment and provides high-quality patient care while adhering to departmental protocols.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations following established procedures.
Operate adjust and maintain ultrasound equipment; take appropriate safety precautions for patient and staff protection.
Clean set up and make minor adjustments to imaging equipment as needed.
Ensure adequate supplies are stocked and available.
Assist with onboarding and mentoring new ultrasound personnel.
Capture and upload images to PACS; ensure timely transfer to physician workstations.
Respond to phone calls schedule exams and coordinate patient transportation when needed.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Knowledge of general office and administrative practices
Strong computer and software skills
Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High attention to detail accuracy and professionalism
