Wednesday: 10:00 AM 6:00 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Medical Assistantfor an exciting Travel or Local job inAstoria NY.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture EKGs vital signs and point-of-care testing.
Prepare exam rooms assist with procedures and support patient mobility and specimen collection.
Provide patient instructions and communicate with patients/families as needed.
Manage patient flow schedules and assist with appointment coordination.
Maintain and update EMR charts forms and demographic/insurance information.
Enter provider orders in EMR and prepare prescription refill requests.
Verify insurance and perform pre-certifications as needed.
Handle medical records scanning filing and general office tasks.
Follow all PPE infection control and safety guidelines.

Required Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with multicultural and limited-English-proficiency patients.
Knowledge of medical terminology HIPAA and basic MS Office.
EMR experience preferred (EPIC a plus).
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Certifications:

High School Diploma or GED
Medical Assistant Certificate Program (Required)
BLS Certification AHA (Required)
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Preferred
