Job Summary
Job Title: Locum Nurse Practitioner - Oncology
Facility and Practice Overview
Join a dynamic team at a free-standing cancer center dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients battling cancer. This practice specializes in Medical Oncology and covers a wide patient demographic including adults and geriatrics. The facility features a collaborative environment with 8 physicians and 4 advanced practice providers ensuring comprehensive patient care with focus on hematology and oncology.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage bone marrow transplants and blood bank procedures
- Order tests and images as needed
- Prescribe medications and administer chemotherapy under the guidance of a nurse oncologist
- Provide first call support for patient inquiries and hospital phone calls
- Conduct inpatient rounding on weekends
- Maintain documentation using the EPIC electronic medical records system
Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner license
- Experience in oncology and hematology preferred
- Ability to manage a high patient volume in outpatient and inpatient settings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work on weekends and participate in call rotations
License and Certification Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of South Carolina
- Current CPR certification
- Board certification in a relevant field is preferred
