IBM Mainframe Specialist

Position Description:

We are Canadas largest independent information technology services firm and after 45 years were still growing! Join Canadas largest IT Company as a IBM Mainframe Specialist in our Banking Services Division.

We are seeking an experienced IBM Mainframe Specialist with 810 years of hands-on expertise in mainframe technologies and enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Location - Downtown (Hybrid - 3 to 4 days office and remaining remote)

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Design develop and maintain applications on IBM Mainframe platforms including Z15 architecture.
Manage and optimize transaction processing using CICS messaging middleware with MQ and database/transaction management through IMS.
Write and maintain programs using COBOL JCL and related mainframe languages.
Perform system performance tuning troubleshooting and problem resolution to ensure high availability and efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate enterprise applications and messaging solutions.
Prepare technical documentation and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

810 years of experience in IBM Mainframe environments.
Strong knowledge of IBM Mainframe Z15 architecture.
Expertise in CICS MQ IMS COBOL and JCL.
Proven experience in system performance tuning and issue resolution.
Solid understanding of enterprise application integration and messaging solutions.
Excellent analytical communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented fast-paced environment.
Language: English (bilingual in English and French is an asset).
