The Visual Media Producer/Editor plays a key role within Juilliards Communications and Marketing team combining creative vision with strong project management skills to craft compelling visual stories. The successful candidate will be a skilled video editor and have a deep understanding of how both photography and video can elevate narrative and brand impact. This position combines production oversight and content creation balancing office-based planning scheduling and routing of visual media with on-the-ground capture of photo and video assets across Juilliards vibrant campus and performance spaces.

Reporting to the Senior Director Content Strategy the Visual Media Producer/Editor works closely with internal stakeholders external creative partners including a roster of freelance photographers and videographers and members of the Content team to develop materials that promote Juilliards programs people and performances. The role requires a creative eye logistical finesse and a high level of responsiveness to the rhythms of the academic calendar and live performance season.

This is a highly collaborative role suited for someone who thrives in both structured and spontaneous environments. The schedule is flexible and adjusts monthly based on seasonal needs including evening and weekend coverage of select events.

The annual salary is $70000$80000 based on experience skillset and qualifications.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan coordinate and route photography and video projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners (photographers videographers editors).
  • Produce and edit video content for distribution across Juilliards digital platforms including social ensuring high-quality engaging multimedia presentations.
  • Manage production schedules maintain media documentation and oversee creative timelines from intake to delivery.
  • Serve as on-site producer for photo and video shoots writing creative briefs coordinating logistics securing releases and liaising with departments.
  • Capture and edit high-quality video content on campus and at live events for use across Juilliards digital and promotional platforms to supplement our freelancers.
  • Ensure that all content adheres to Juilliards brand guidelines and meets accessibility and technical standards.
  • Collaborate with the content design and digital teams to align media assets with editorial calendars and campaign goals.
  • Manage photo and video archives.
  • Contribute to a nimble responsive content workflow that adapts to the dynamic pace of Juilliards performances and academic schedule.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree and 3 years of relevant experience in content production media coordination or digital storytelling
  • Demonstrated experience capturing and editing photo and video content for institutional editorial or marketing use with a strong eye for shot composition visual storytelling and alignment across platforms.
  • Experience managing creative timelines production schedules and stakeholder communications
  • Exceptional project management skills and ability to balance multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Expertise with DSLR or mirrorless cameras lighting setups and audio capture as well as with editing software such as Adobe Premiere Lightroom and Photoshop
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills including attention to detail and follow-through
  • Availability for adjusted hours including evenings and weekends in alignment with performance and academic programming

Preferred Background:

  • Experience working in an arts academic or nonprofit environment
  • Knowledge of classical music drama or dance and an interest in capturing artistic practice in live and studio settings
  • Experience producing content in a higher education or institutional setting
  • Working knowledge of accessibility best practices in media production (e.g. captioning alt text framing for inclusion)
  • Proficiency with digital asset management systems and collaborative platforms (e.g. Photo Shelter Dropbox Airtable )
