Operations and Strategy Division of Human Resources (HR) exists to provide centralized human resource services to the general public applicants managers and employees who work for the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS). Consultation services include: benefit administration; compensation; equity diversity and inclusion; employee relations; HR policy development; job analysis; job evaluation and classification; organizational development; New Employee Orientation; performance management; interpretation of CDHS HR policy state personnel rules state and federal employment laws; progressive discipline; records management; recruitment; responding to grievances appeals charges of discrimination; reorganization issues; retention; selection and selection appeals; settlement advice; strategic planning and overall HR guidance to CDHS managers supervisors and employees.
Weekly Hybrid Working Arrangements
Minimum 2 days In Office and Maximum 3 days Remote Work
Responsible for providing expertise and consulting services to business leaders and programs in areas such as the State Personnel Board Rules Partnership Agreement and the CDHS Side Agreement. The HRBP ensures that legal and regulatory compliance (local state and federal employment and labor laws) is maintained and CDHSs policies are applied. HRBP assists in special projects such as unit reorganizations updating position descriptions recruitment and selection of open and vacant positions and recommending fair and just compensation for positions. Supports HRs initiative in providing timely and accurate customer service to all client groups.
Functions:
This position reinforces Department strategies focused on employee engagement equity diversity & inclusion retention and other initiatives as identified in the results-driven management system (RDMS).
Six (6) years of experience in Talent Acquisition Compensation Employee and Labor Relations and/or Job Evaluation
A combination of related education in Human Resources Business Administration Workforce Development Employment Law Organizational Management Legal Studies Labor Studies or related field and Experience in Talent Acquisition Compensation Employee and Labor Relations and/or Job Evaluation equal to six (6) years

Must possess a valid non-restricted Colorado Drivers License or a non-restricted U.S. Drivers License for positions within 30 miles of the CO state border
Travel: On occasion this position is required to travel to facilities and off-site as requested by programs and/or HR leadership
Other: The incumbent of this position must pass the State Personnel Certification Program for Job Evaluation and the Selection Process within 4 months.
