Mechanical Senior Project Engineer VIC
Our client is a leading provider of major infrastructure and utility projects across Victoria. They deliver critical water treatment and civil upgrades that support growing communities and they are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Senior Project Engineer to support an upcoming works program in Winneke VIC.
About the Role
In this senior site-based role you will lead mechanical engineering delivery for a complex water-infrastructure project. Working across planning design coordination procurement and on-site execution youll oversee a team of engineers and technical staff to ensure that all mechanical systems are delivered safely efficiently and in line with project requirements.
Youll coordinate design inputs review technical documentation manage interfaces with subcontractors and ensure that progress cost quality and schedule targets are achieved. The role also requires strong stakeholder engagement structured reporting and a proactive approach to site safety and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and guide project engineers and other technical team members
Oversee mechanical engineering design inputs and construction specifications
Monitor quality quantities and conformity of incoming equipment and onsite installations
Coordinate workloads workflows and priorities to maintain progress and cost control
Manage subcontractor scopes documentation technical queries and compliance requirements
Prepare progress reports cost tracking and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Conduct site inspections surveys and pre-construction assessments
Liaise with designers consultants and suppliers to resolve issues and maintain technical alignment
Support planning procurement and scheduling activities throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
710 years engineering experience in water infrastructure or similar mechanical projects
Strong leadership mentoring and coordination capability across multidisciplinary teams
Proven experience with technical reporting risk management and progress tracking
Ability to manage subcontractors and provide clear direction on technical standards
Strong commitment to safety quality and continuous improvement
