Course Description:

Cultural and Academic Language Immersion (CALI) program

An integrated four-skills (listening reading speaking writing) course utilizing a task-based teaching approach; emphasis is on the acquisition of language skills and intercultural competence to complete communicative real-world tasks; grammar and vocabulary in use socio-pragmatic skills IT resources and learning strategies are highlighted; approach is student-centered and interactive; emphasis is on formative evaluation.

This course will be given to a small group of students from Waseda university in Japan.

Program Dates: February 17 - March 20 2026

Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8:30 AM 11:30 AM.

Masters degree in second language teaching TESL or related discipline. Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college/university level. Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course. Experience with team-teaching. TESL Certification or equivalent.
