The Grant Accounting Analyst is responsible for the financial administration and monitoring of federal state and local grant projects within the Special Revenue Fund. This position ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and funder requirements by analyzing expenditures reconciling accounts preparing reports and supporting the fiscal close-out of grant-funded projects. The role also collaborates with grants administration and project managers to establish budgets monitor spending and maintain documentation for audit readiness.
This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
Establish and maintain grant budgets in the accounting system; monitor expenditures against approved budgets and funding restrictions.
Approve expenses for compliance with federal OMB guidelines funder terms and institutional policies; perform expenditure and salary analyses and process journal entries or budget transfers as needed.
Prepare and submit financial reports and reimbursement requests (monthly quarterly and annual) in accordance with grant and funder requirements.
Track grant-related accounts receivable coordinate drawdown or invoicing processes and reconcile payments received.
Maintain audit and update time and effort reporting and payroll allocations for grant-funded personnel.
Collaborate with grant project managers and grants administration to ensure financial activities align with project budgets and allowable costs.
Prepare and reconcile grant close-out documentation verifying that all expenditures are properly recorded in the general ledger.
Assist in developing grant proposal budgets and provide financial guidance during the pre-award process as needed.
Support annual financial audits and year-end accounting processes including reconciliations and report preparation.
Support grant development as needed and carry out additional duties as assigned.
