We are currently hiring a full-time Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Phillips State Prison in Buford GA.

Qualifications
The Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing holistic nursing care within the appropriate scope of practice to incarcerated patients while working under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and/or Nursing Supervisor. This role has a primary focus on infection prevention and control within a secure correctional setting and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team (providers nursing mental health custody and administration) to identify monitor and respond to a wide range of physical psychological and social needs of patients.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor investigate and track infectious diseases within the facility including respiratory gastrointestinal skin and bloodborne infections.
Lead and maintain infection control surveillance programs including data collection trending and reporting to clinical leadership.
Coordinate and implement infection prevention measures such as isolation cohorting PPE use and environmental controls in partnership with security and operations.
Develop deliver and reinforce staff education on infection control practices (hand hygiene standard and transmission-based precautions PPE cleaning and disinfection).
Participate in outbreak management including early recognition case finding contact tracing within housing units and implementation of control measures.
Collaborate with the DON providers and custody leadership on policies procedures and protocols related to infection prevention in a correctional environment.
Conduct audits and rounds to assess compliance with infection control standards and follow up on deficiencies with coaching re-education and escalation as needed.
Assist with intake screening processes related to communicable diseases and ensure appropriate follow-up for high-risk patients.
Maintain accurate timely documentation and reports in accordance with facility company and regulatory standards.
Uphold safety security and professional boundaries while working inside a correctional facility.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree in Nursing required; Bachelors degree preferred.
Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain one as required by the state.
Appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance including drug screening and criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in infection control occupational health public health or quality/risk management.
Correctional acute care long-term care or high-acuity clinical experience.
Familiarity with CDC OSHA and state infection control guidelines.
