Job Description:
Responsible for managing and leading the department/area in a manner which promotes the University of Toledo Medical Center Mission Vision and Values of Teamwork Quality and Service.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Current and active licensure as RN in state of Ohio.
BSN required.
Current BLS certification required.
Three years experience working as a RN in an acute care setting.
Three years nursing management or other leadership experience in an acute care setting.
Advanced degree (Masters) from an accredited college or university in Nursing Health Service (Public Health) Administration or related area preferred.
Specialty certification preferred.
Communication
1. Exhibits accuracy integrity and flexibility; is punctual and dependable.
2. Possesses organizational problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
3. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
4. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills; possesses group facilitation skills.
5. Must have demonstrated ability in conflict negotiation and ability to exercise diplomacy and tact in potentially volatile situations.
6. Must maintain a positive work attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with the following patient population; post-surgical stroke trauma trach/vent etc.
