Responsibilities
Plans and directs daily programs for children enrolled in the Pre-Kindergarten Program and Summer Camp. Consistently provides developmentally appropriate and child centered activities that meet the physical emotional intellectual needs of the children. Functions as a team leader and role model working with assistants and volunteers in the classroom.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interacts positively with children at all times.
- Plans implements and evaluates daily activities for children in the Pre-Kindergarten and Summer Camp. Plans are submitted to Manager according to departmental policy.
- Creates and maintains a physical environment that promotes positive development.
- Responsible for supervision and constructive utilization of Summer Camp and Pre-Kindergarten staff.
- Keeps appropriate records.
- Maintains health and safety of children and environment.
- Participates in ongoing professional development.
- Responds in a professional manner to all situations.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions unsafe conditions or employee/patient/visitor injuryaccident to Manager.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
- Must have Bachelors Degree OR Associates Degree and be currently enrolled in Bachelors degree teacher certification program.
- Two years of teaching experience in Early Childhood setting similar to responsibilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development/management techniques appropriate activities for preschool/school age children and related care regulations.
- Must be energetic with an interest in and enjoyment of children.
- One year of supervisory experience. have excellent written and oral communication skills.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:
- Masters Degree in Early Childhood Child Development or Related Field.
- Current Teaching Certificate in Pre-K through 5th grade or Pre-K through 8th grade.
- Certification in CPR First Aid and other GA state health and safety requirements.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY THE STATE OF GEORGIA:
- Teaching Certificate (P-5 or P-8) issued by Professional Standards Commission
