The program

Aus4Skills Phase 3 is a ten-year DFAT-funded program partnering with the Government of Vietnam to strengthen bilateral ties by supporting Vietnams human resource development priorities. Focused on higher education the Vietnam Australia Centre and vocational education and training (VET) the program builds workforce-ready inclusive climate-adaptive skills public sector leadership and alumni networks. It targets gender equality disability and social inclusion and support for disadvantaged Australia Awards students. Outcomes include stronger AustraliaVietnam strategic partnerships enhanced public sector leadership and womens advancement and industry-aligned VET that meets labour market needs while promoting social equity and sustainable growth.


The role

The Senior Finance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Finance and Administration Manager in managing program accounts maintaining appropriate financial controls and facilitating payment requests in accordance with the Aus4Skills Finance & Operations Manual implementing financial compliance measures and ensuring transparency and fraud awareness within the program.


Key responsibilities

  • Support finance administration: process payments upload transactions to QuickBooks and prepare monthly reconciliations.
  • Verify payment requests and supporting documents to ensure compliance with internal policies.
  • Maintain accurate accounts bank reconciliations asset records and orderly filing systems.
  • Provide financial advice to project teams and assist with fund replenishment and financial reporting.
  • Manage HR administration tasks: personnel files timesheets leave recruitment support and liaise with social insurance.
  • Deliver ad-hoc administrative support and ensure compliance with child protection PSEAH privacy and fraud policies.

Selection criteria

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance (ACCA/CPA or similar an advantage).
  • Preferable at least 5 years experience in project/budget management and procurement in international development.
  • Fluent Vietnamese and English with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel/Word.
  • Solid knowledge of Vietnamese VAT labor social insurance and personal income tax (Australian standards a plus).
  • Collaborative flexible problem-solver with strong attention to detail and customer-service focus.
