Become part of Infinite Aged Care as our Infection Prevention & Safe Environments Manager a key leader committed to safeguarding the health safety and wellbeing of residents staff and visitors. Reporting to the Head of Quality Excellence and Governance you will drive the development and continuous improvement of infection prevention and control programs across clinical and support services including catering cleaning and laundry. You will promote a proactive person-centred approach that prioritises safety dignity and choice.
Working within our dynamic Clinical Governance Team you will help translate complex standards into practical high-impact strategies that strengthen service delivery. Through collaboration education and targeted interventions youll empower teams to exceed compliance reduce risks and create safe supportive environments across all homes.

In summary this position will:
- Lead the national Infection Protection Control (IPC) program ensuring all homes meet regulatory and ACQSC requirements.
- Implement systems to prevent identify report and control infections across residents staff and visitors.
- Develop and maintain IPC policies procedures education and surveillance programs.
- Drive organisational antimicrobial resistance(AMR) and antimicrobial stewardship(AMS) strategies based on current evidence and best practice.
- Lead annual vaccination strategy with Health Safety & Wellbeing for residents and staff.
- Coordinate outbreak investigations responses and reporting to health authorities.
- Provide expert infection control advice in relation to building works construction and engineering controls.
- Provide expert advice to support functions such as strategies for IPC in hotel services (e.g. food safety laundry protocols cleaning standards and maintenance).
- Oversee PPE standards and safe compliant use across all homes.
- Monitor infection indicators analyse trends and implement targeted interventions.
- Support audits maintain compliance and mentor site-based Infection Control Nurses.
- Deliver IPC training coaching and onboarding for managers and clinical teams.
- Build proactive IPC culture and support emergency and outbreak response committees.
- Maintain partnerships with external agencies and public health networks ensuring current regulatory and infection control practices are applied.
About you
- Registered Nurse Division 1 with current AHPRA registration
- Experience coordinating health reporting to government agencies
- Demonstrated knowledge in food safety management HACCP principles and food safety regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical governance quality improvement practices and compliance with healthcare standards and accreditation
- Strong data literacy with high attention to detail in documentation and reporting
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure meet deadlines and manage national-scale initiatives
- Formal qualification or Department of Health approved training in Infection Prevention & Control
- Advanced clinical knowledge of infection control practices in residential aged care
- A current drivers licence and car.
- Must have a current NDIS clearance OR ability to apply for one.
Desirable
- Familiarity with outbreak management software and clinical risk systems
- Strong facilitation and training delivery skills
- Experience in clinical leadership or quality roles in aged care or healthcare
- Experience in the disability or not-for-profit sector
- Experience with clinical reporting platforms and aged care IT systems
- Food Safety Supervisor certificate or equivalent food safety qualification
