About The Position


This position serves as the primary contact for all laboratory and specialist-space purchasing across the STEM College.

The Technical Purchasing Officer will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and streamline all administrative tasks related to raising purchase orders.

The role is responsible for ensuring all orders comply with government and RMIT requirements including attaching the necessary safety documentation identifying and reporting non-compliant practices and providing informed advice on purchasing processes and standards.

To be successful in this position youll have:

  • Experience in using Workday or similar purchasing software

  • Experience in a scientific/technical purchasing role preferable

  • Demonstrated attention to detail Strong communication skills

  • Proven high level of accurate data entry skills across a high volume.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel and office online programs.
