We are recruiting a Year 2 Teacher for a well-resourced primary school in Wiltshire. The Year 2 Teacher will plan and deliver a sequenced KS1 curriculum that secures strong progress in reading writing and mathematics lead phonics and guided-reading sessions and run targeted interventions where assessment indicates need. This Year 2 Teacher position starts January 2026 with a structured induction and handover scheduled before January 2026 so the Year 2 Teacher can begin the spring term ready to make an immediate impact.

About the role
The Year 2 Teacher will create differentiated daily lessons deliver focused small-group work maintain accurate assessment and contribute to transition planning into Key Stage 2. The Year 2 Teacher will also liaise with parents to share progress and next steps and take part in moderation and year-group planning across the Wiltshire school. We are looking for a Year 2 Teacher who combines high expectations with nurturing practice to accelerate pupil progress.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and teach effective Year 2 lessons with clear progression and purposeful differentiation.
- Deliver phonics guided reading and maths sessions to secure essential skills.
- Use ongoing assessment to design and run impactful interventions and measure outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to moderate standards and share successful approaches across Wiltshire.
- Communicate with families and contribute to reporting and review cycles.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with proven KS1 experience and strong Year 2 outcomes.
- Secure phonics expertise excellent assessment literacy and effective behaviour strategies.
- Organised reflective and ready to start January 2026 in Wiltshire.
