About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Test and Commissioning (T&C) Lead/Manager to drive the development and delivery of our T&C services nationally. Reporting to the National Project Engineering Manager youll lead on-site execution manage teams of Commissioning Engineers and ensure all activities meet client expectations and Zinfras high standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and expand our T&C capabilitiesimproving systems processes and documentation while supporting tender development and project delivery. Youll also play a key role in business development and stakeholder engagement making this a highly visible and influential position within a growing future-focused infrastructure business.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Driving the national development and delivery of Zinfras Testing & Commissioning (T&C) offering ensuring consistent execution aligned with company standards and client expectations.
  • Leading and mentoring high-performing T&C teams fostering a culture of safety accountability and continuous improvement across all projects.
  • Collaborating with Resource Coordinators to manage and allocate skilled personnel aligning workforce capabilities with project needs to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Executing or overseeing complex on-site T&C activities delivering safe high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.
  • Enhancing T&C capabilities across systems documentation and processes championing innovation and standardisation to improve project performance.
  • Developing competitive compliant T&C tender submissions supporting business growth and alignment with revenue profitability and HSEQ targets.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders building trusted relationships to ensure satisfaction alignment and long-term success.
  • Identifying and implementing development pathways for internal talent growing in-house capability and supporting career progression across the T&C discipline.
  • Championing lessons learned and risk management practices continuously improving project execution through knowledge-sharing and robust governance.

About You

Youre a results-driven professional with proven HV commissioning expertise across transmission and distribution networks. With strong leadership skills you excel in managing complex substation projects mentoring teams and driving process improvements. Your commitment to safety integrity and high-quality outcomes sets you apart. An HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering is essential and experience with SR/TP/BP 141 standards is highly desirable.

  • Extensive HV commissioning experience on transmission (132kV) and distribution networks
  • Delivery of greenfield and brownfield substation projects across multiple ownership networks
  • Strong leadership in team management coaching and mentoring for high performance
  • Proven ability to implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and consistency
  • Deep understanding of HV commissioning standards and compliance requirements
  • Skilled at balancing multiple priorities with attention to detail and accountability
  • Alignment with safety teamwork and integrity as core values

  • Visa Sponsorship: We are looking to sponsor engineers currently based in the UK. Under the AustraliaUK Free Trade Agreement UK passport holders have streamlined visa pathways making relocation faster and easier. Applicants must be eligible for visa sponsorship under this agreement. Zinfra will cover visa application costs and relocation expenses.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be eligible for visa sponsorship under this agreement (UK passport holders qualify).
  • Relocation Support: The business will cover visa application costs and relocation expenses.
