About the Role
As Site Manager you will have a broad and varied remit including both hands-on and managerial responsibilities. These include:
Managing all daily site operations across the school grounds to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely
Leading and coordinating the work of caretakers cleaners and external contractors
Conducting routine and reactive repairs decorating and maintenance tasks
Ensuring full compliance with health & safety regulations statutory checks and record-keeping (e.g. fire alarms emergency lighting water testing)
Overseeing heating ventilation security and alarm systems and acting as a key holder for emergencies
Maintaining cleanliness order and high presentation standards across all internal and external areas
Supporting school events exams lettings and extended-hours programmes with logistics and setup
Liaising regularly with senior leadership on site development capital projects and long-term maintenance plans
This is a pivotal role that requires someone who can combine practical skills with strong coordination and leadership.
Experience and Qualifications
Proven experience in site or facilities management (experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential)
Strong understanding of health & safety statutory compliance safeguarding and risk assessment
Practical skills across basic trades (e.g. carpentry plumbing decorating minor electrical work)
Ability to lead a team confidently delegate tasks and motivate others
High standards of reliability professionalism and integrity
Good IT skills for managing logs compliance records and communication
