The Role

You will have overall responsibility for the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Science department overseeing Biology Chemistry and Physics across KS3 and KS4 with KS5 provision where applicable. Alongside a reduced teaching timetable you will lead curriculum development raise standards and ensure consistently high-quality teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the Science curriculum across all key stages

• Driving progress attainment and outcomes through effective assessment and intervention

• Line-managing and supporting Science teaching staff and technicians

• Monitoring teaching quality and supporting professional development within the department

• Managing departmental resources budgets and health & safety compliance

• Contributing to whole-school improvement as part of the middle leadership team

• Promoting a positive aspirational culture for Science across the school
