The Opportunity
An Outstanding secondary school in Yorkshire is seeking a proactive and skilled School Caretaker to join their premises team. This role is vital for the smooth daily operation of the school ensuring that the buildings and extensive grounds provide a safe clean and welcoming environment for both pupils and staff.
Core Responsibilities
Site Security: Acting as a primary key-holder responsible for the daily unlocking and securing of the site including managing intruder and fire alarms.
General Maintenance: Carrying out minor repairs painting and DIY tasks. Overseeing the work of external contractors when required.
Compliance: Conducting routine health and safety checks including water temperature monitoring (Legionella) emergency lighting and fire bell tests.
Requirements & Compensation
Essential: Previous experience in a caretaking trade or site-maintenance role. A good understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
