The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Kentwood that are seeking Bookkeepers. Key Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable including vendor invoices and customer payments.
• Manage payroll processing including timecard verification tax calculations and remittances.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts.
• Track and reconcile inventory valuations for raw materials work-in-progress and finished goods.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures preparing journal entries and financial reports.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns and other relevant government filings.
• Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs including cost of goods sold and overhead expenses.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3 years of bookkeeping experience preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP with specific knowledge of inventory costing COGS and fixed assets.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Sage) and experience with ERP systems common in manufacturing (e.g. SAP NetSuite).
• Demonstrated ability to perform month-end close processes prepare financial statements and manage general ledger accounts accurately.
• Familiarity with cost accounting principles including inventory valuation variance analysis and job costing.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g. SAP Oracle NetSuite Epicor).
• Familiarity with cost accounting principles and inventory valuation methods (e.g. FIFO LIFO Weighted Average).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on financial records.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
