About the role

Are you passionate about providing safe and future-ready road networks for the community In this role youll be the Citys go-to engineer for managing public road infrastructure - from assessing development impacts and advising on engineering solutions to handling permits and responding to community requests. Youll play a key part in planning policy development and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations while providing professional guidance on road design and service levels.

Role accountabilities include:

• Deliver expert engineering advice on road design and development projects.
• Manage permits for heavy vehicles road openings and construction works.
• Investigate and respond to public and stakeholder enquiries on road issues.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for Council on road infrastructure.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to achieve quality outcomes.

About you

Youre a skilled engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and delivering practical solutions that make a real difference to the community. Your technical expertise is matched by strong communication and collaboration skills enabling you to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.

Youll bring:

• A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and a current drivers licence.
• Proven experience in road engineering and infrastructure projects.
• A solid understanding of legislation and standards for local government roads.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage confidently with diverse audiences.
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
