Job Summary

TPF are currently representing a growing firm in Newbury who are seeking a full-time Accounts Semi-Senior to join their team. This is a varied role where you will gain exposure to working in accounts tax bookkeeping and VAT.

This role suits someone who is looking to continue their career within a reputable local independent firm of chartered accountants that manage to strike a balance between a good quality of work and excellent training and development opportunities whilst still retaining a strong work-life balance and a friendly collaborative working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of statutory accounts.
Assisting with management accounts production.
Personal tax corporate tax and VAT returns.
General bookkeeping duties using Xero or QuickBooks.
Use Sage Xero or QuickBooks confidently including providing client training where required.
Work effectively within a practice environment supporting wider team workflows.
Undertake ongoing training with full support available towards ACCA or ACA.

Requirements

Strong client-facing experience within a practice setting.
Good working knowledge of Sage Xero or QuickBooks.
Understanding of payroll and tax processes is advantageous but not essential.
Strong IT skills and willingness to handle simple internal IT tasks.
AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualified (or equivalent experience).

Required Skills:

For this fantastic Semi Senior opportunity in Wokingham you may be an AAT studying and/or perhaps studying ACCA or looking to build further on your experience following qualifying AAT with a background in accountancy practice with at least 2 - 4 years or more experience within practice preparing accounts tax and other responsibilities for a mixed client base of sole traders partnerships and limited companies. You will be looking for a challenging long term career move at Accounts Semi Senior level within a genuinely growing and expanding firm of chartered accountants offering progression and career development.
