WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE
TheCredit Riskteam assesses the creditworthiness of counterpartiesparticipatesin the negotiation of commercial contracts and calibrates credit is done through an analysis of the country sector industry and counterparty using financials and other quantitative and qualitative public and private arefrequentlyprivate andunrated by negotiation includes physical energy commodities agreements and credit terms can include credit-specific clauses financial covenants collateral and payment off ona contract the Credit Risk teammonitorsexposure againstcredit credit health and financial condition of counterparties is also continuously monitored.
Description
As aSeniorCredit RiskAnalystfor GlobalLNG& Biomassbusinessyou will report to theHead ofCredit forLNG& Biomassand will be based willcollaboratetothe fulfillment ofdepartmentmissions and may be involved in projects spanning multiple groups across commercial functions and staff.
Duties
- Assesscreditworthiness of counterparties assign ratings and set limits
- Presentfiles andcreditrequests toregular Credit Risk Committees
- Participate in counterparty relationship development with Front Officeand attendmeetings with counterparties together with Front Office
- Negotiateand recommendcredit collateral and payment terms in contracts in conjunction with Legal and Front Officesuch as inphysical master agreements
- Monitor credit risk indicators exposures limits andutilizationfor a portfolio of counterparties
- Proactively respond to Front Office querieson term sheets andabout exposure of potential tradesand whether trades fit limits
- Monitor news and credit eventsimpactingportfolio of counterparties
- Understand risk calculationmethodology such as PFEand creditVaR
- Participate in cross-functional projects as and when needed
- AssistHead ofCredit and CRO inadhocprojects related tocredit riskmandate and policyupdatesforLNGand Biomass
Requirements:
- 5-7years ofrelevantexperience inCredit Risk positions includinghandling waterborne physical trade
- Significant historyofproducingdetailed credit files andassigninginternal ratingsand limits
- Minimum:aBachelorsdegreeinCorporate Finance Accounting Economicsor equivalent
- Familiarwith energy commodities markets products counterparties andwaterborne physical trade cycle
- Good knowledge ofcredit support instruments (includingSBLCsand able toreview formats)
- Strongattention to detail andanalytical skills(includingperformingfinancialstatementsanalysis) and able to articulate position well
- Excellent communication skillsinEnglish
- Knowledge of physicalcommodity master agreements
- Ability to work under pressure self-organize and prioritize tasks andproactivelyrespond to urgent requests from Front Officein a high-pressure work environment
- Independent anda strongteamplayer
Bonuscriteria:
- Structured credit experience on long-term transactions a plus
- Experience at a bankor ratings agencyalsoa plus
- Derivatives knowledgeand background
- Familiar with credit exposure modelingmethodologyand Basel counterparty credit risk standards
