About the Role:
The role is to provide leadership on stewardship and sustainable investing client engagement policy development thought leadership commercialization strategy marketing and product development in the Asia-Pacific region. The role reports to the Global Head of Sustainable Investing Services as part of the Investment Stewardship team and works in close partnership with internal and external stakeholders in the region and globally. The person will have deep knowledge of ESG stewardship and sustainable investing policies programs and strategies with the aim of strengthening the message we deliver to clients policymakers and stakeholders while advancing Invescos industry presence and internal capabilities in sustainable investing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive ESG client strategy for the Asia Pacific region aligning with Invescos global ESG framework and regional market nuances.
- Client Engagement & Education: Act as the primary ESG subject matter expert for key institutional and wholesale clients in AP leading client meetings presentations and workshops to articulate Invescos ESG capabilities research and thought leadership.
- Solution Development: Collaborate closely with investment teams product development and sales to identify client needs and drive the creation of innovative and differentiated ESG investment solutions and products tailored for the AP market.
- Market Intelligence & Positioning: Monitor regional ESG trends regulatory developments and competitor activities to inform strategy identify opportunities and ensure Invescos ESG offerings remain competitive and relevant.
- Thought Leadership & Advocacy: Represent Invesco at industry conferences seminars and within relevant ESG working groups in AP contributing to industry best practices and enhancing Invescos reputation as a leader in sustainable investing.
- Internal Collaboration & Training: Partner with sales marketing and investment teams across AP to enhance their ESG knowledge support their client-facing efforts and ensure consistent messaging.
- Reporting & Governance: Contribute to regional and global ESG reporting requirements and ensure adherence to relevant internal policies and external regulations.
About your background:
- Education: Bachelors degree in finance Economics Environmental Science or a related field. A masters degree CFA or relevant ESG certifications (e.g. CESGA) are highly desirable.
- Experience: 10 years of experience in the asset management industry with at least 5 years specifically focused on ESG investing client strategy or product development in the Asia Pacific region.
- ESG Expertise: Deep understanding of global and regional ESG trends frameworks (e.g. TCFD SASB SFDR) data providers and regulatory landscapes. Strong grasp of sustainable finance principles and their application to investment strategies.
- Client-Facing Skills: Proven track record of successfully engaging with sophisticated institutional and wholesale clients building strong relationships and effectively communicating complex investment concepts.
- Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Ability to develop and execute strategic plans analyze market data and translate insights into actionable plans.
- Collaboration & Influence: Demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse teams influence stakeholders and drive consensus in a matrixed organization.
- Communication & Presentation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to articulate complex topics clearly and concisely to diverse audiences. Proficiency in additional Asian languages (e.g. Mandarin Cantonese) would be an advantage.
