IT and Cyber Security Support Officer

18-month fixed term contract
Band 5 0.6 FTE
$79353 - $91254 per annum pro rata

The Geelong Regional Library Corporation is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive IT and Cyber Security Support Officerto help strengthen our digital environment support our people and champion a culture of cyber awareness across our organisation.

This role is ideal for new graduates looking to build their experienceor those with a few years in the field wanting to take the next stepin a supportive community-focused environment.

What you will be doing

Working through a detailed cyber security workplan developed by a specialist consultant which includes tasks such as
- Supporting the stability and performance of our Microsoft 365 and Windows environments
- Assisting with risk management activities including compliance checks and security audits
- Helping develop and deliver cyber security training and awareness initiatives for staff
- Working closely with the Digital Solutions team to maintain secure and reliable systems
Monitoring and responding to security incidents alerts and emerging vulnerabilities

What were looking for

Qualifications in ICT Cyber Security or relevant professional experience are a must
Strong understanding of current cyber security practices tools and frameworks
A practical problem-solving approach and strong attention to detail
Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
A proactive mindset curiosity and willingness to keep learning in a fast-moving environment
