About the position
As a Site Manager Data Center Construction you are responsible for the day-to-day management of the construction site. You ensure that work on site is carried out safely to the right quality and according to the agreed programme.
You work closely with the Project Manager and lead the on-site execution from set-up and groundworks through structural and building works to installation of power cooling and other technical systems. You are the main point of contact on site for supervisors subcontractors and suppliers and you make sure that everyone knows what needs to be done where and when.
Our construction projects cover:
- Groundworks and civil works
- Structural frame and building envelope
- Internal build and fit-out
- MV/LV power distribution UPS generators and switchgear
- Cooling systems (chillers CRAC/CRAH pipework pumps dry coolers)
- BMS/PME and other control and safety systems
You lead the site team including supervisors HSE resources and back-office/project support on site and you work closely with colleagues in operations sales finance and HR when needed. You ensure that the site is well organised safe and productive and that the Project Manager has a clear picture of progress and issues.
Areas of responsibility
Site leadership and daily control
- Set up and run the construction site in line with EcoDataCenter requirements and local regulations.
- Lead daily coordination meetings clarify priorities and make sure work fronts are ready for production.
- Follow up progress against the programme and flag delays and constraints early.
Health safety and quality
- Take ownership for HSE on site and ensure that routines permits and instructions are followed.
- Carry out site walks toolbox talks and follow-up on incidents and observations.
- Ensure that work is carried out according to drawings specifications and quality requirements.
Coordination with subcontractors and suppliers
- Coordinate civil structural electrical mechanical and other subcontractors on site.
- Check that manpower equipment and materials are in place in line with the plan.
- Manage access permits deliveries and site logistics so that work can be carried out efficiently.
Planning logistics and progress follow-up
- Support the Project Manager with short-interval lookahead planning and constraints removal.
- Secure that storage areas laydown waste handling and temporary facilities are well organised.
- Document daily progress key events and deviations in a structured way.
Reporting and support to Project Manager
- Provide clear fact-based updates on progress issues and risks.
- Support the Project Manager with input to reports change evaluations and recovery plans.
- Highlight opportunities for improvement in safety productivity and quality on site.
Your profile
You are an experienced site manager or construction supervisor who enjoys being close to the work and leading people on site. You are comfortable taking responsibility for a busy construction site with several subcontractors and work fronts running in parallel.
- Have several years of experience as a Site Manager Construction Supervisor or Foreman on industrial commercial or infrastructure projects.
- Are used to coordinating civil building and technical installations and understand how different trades depend on each other.
- Can read and understand construction drawings method statements and basic schedules.
- Have a strong safety mindset and are used to working with HSE routines permits and site inspections.
- Communicate clearly and directly with workers supervisors subcontractors and the clients representatives.
- Prefer to work in a structured way but can make quick decisions when needed to keep the site moving.
As a person you are practical solution-oriented and calm under pressure. You like to be present on site solve problems together with the team and make sure that work is carried out safely correctly and on time.
Qualifications
- Several years of documented experience as a Site Manager on large highly complex MEP infrastructure projects
- Experience supervising subcontractors and managing daily site activities with various stakeholders
- Good understanding of HSE requirements and routines on construction sites.
- Ability to read and understand drawings specifications and method statements.
- Good communication skills in Swedish and English spoken and written.
- Good knowledge of the Office package and other relevant software
