Job Summary

  • Based in Geraldton a regional coastal city of 35000 with a magnificent landscape and climate the position offers a friendly and supportive work environment.
  • Incremental progression based on 12 months continuous service.
  • Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
  • Base salary range: $83212 $92231 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Western Australian Centre for Rural Health (WACRH) is administered by the University of Western Australia and is part of a network of University Departments of Rural Health across Australia. WACRH is located in various towns and cities across the Midwest and Pilbara regions of WA with its main office in Geraldton with other offices in Karratha and Carnarvon. This position is located our Geraldton office.

WACRHs aims to collaborate in the promotion and preparation of students for health careers in rural and remote settings provide innovative learning opportunities for students health professionals and the community and conduct rigorous applied research aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of rural and remote communities including Aboriginal communities.

Our vision is to be a leader in creating and optimising rural health knowledge and practice ultimately enhancing the health of rural communities. WACRH is guided by principles of collaboration respect for diversity integrity partnership with vulnerable communities continuous improvement and workforce development.

About the opportunity

  • Provide a high level of administrative and secretarial support to the WACRH office.
  • Contribute to the establishment maintenance and improvement of office systems policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent competency.
  • Substantial relevant administrative experience at an appropriate level in an education or research work environment.
  • Highly developed written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and culturally appropriately show initiative and work productively as part of a team.
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills with an ability to meet deadlines.

Special Requirements

  • A current National Police Clearance Certificate
  • Working with Children Check and
  • C class drivers licence will be required by the successful applicant.
