JOB SUMMARY:
This position provides oversite of projects and support to the Project Director (Principal Investigator) and the project team in all aspects of a research project focused on youth mental health. This is a multifaceted research position that combines administrative responsibilities with research activities. This position will be involved in activities related to a research study in the area of mental health. This position will be given directions to follow by the Principal and/or co-Investigators in activities related to a research study. This position will perform specific assigned research related tasks which includes developing and writing novel protocols and safety procedures. Will also include managing and overseeing daily operations and finances of the youth mental health lab. This position will also lead group analysis of data assists in preparation of grants ethics application summary reports and publications.

Errors in the this positions work will hold consequences for the timeliness and quality of the research project.
DECISION MAKING/ACCOUNTABILITY:
Exercises a considerable amount of judgment responsibility and initiative in determining work procedures and methods and coordinating the work of the unit.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under minimum supervision receiving specific instructions only on unusual problems or on matters which depart significantly from established policy and procedure.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
May have supervisory responsibilities for a small group of employees at lower classifications and may have input into staff selection and performance evaluation.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work will be performed at the UBC Okanagan where access to telephone computers office furniture and other necessary equipment will be provided. Work can also be completed from home.
ORGANIZATIONAL CHART:
This position is not related to any other position in the immediate operating unit.
