The Home Care Support Worker provides culturally safe practical support that helps Aboriginal Elders and people living with disability live independently safely and confidently at home and in the community. The role has two scopes: SCHADS Level 2 (non-personal care domestic assistance meals social support and community participation) and SCHADS Level 3 (personal care for qualified competent workers authorised to provide basic personal care). All workers follow support plans and must escalate any concerns to the Care Partner Lead or Clinical Nurse Lead.
Role classification
Multiple positions available SCHADS Level 2 or SCHADS Level 3 (based on qualifications competency and assigned duties). Full-time part-time and casual options available.

Position Purpose
The Home Care Support Worker provides culturally safe practical support that enables Aboriginal Elders and people living with disability to live independently safely and confidently at home and in the community.
This PD includes two scopes:
SCHADS Level 2 Non-Personal Care Stream
For workers who:
do NOT provide personal care
provide domestic assistance meal support and social support
support Elders in programs outings and community participation
SCHADS Level 3 Personal Care Stream
For workers who:
have the required qualification (Cert III Individual Support or equivalent)
have been assessed as competent
are authorised by the Care Partner Lead / Clinical Nurse Lead to deliver basic personal care tasks.
All workers must escalate concerns to the Care Partner Lead and Clinical Nurse Lead.
