The Global Localization Platform teamis responsible foranautomated string management platformthat transforms how we handle user-facing text across all our products as well as the tools and tooling components used to manage localizations through self-service within our internal suite of tools called Studio. This platform significantly boosts the productivity of Copywriters and Translation Operations while improving the workflow for development teams that integrate language strings. By automating string collection translation and deployment the team ensures higher-quality English and translated strings are delivered faster and more short our teams work underpins thelocalizationefforts that make Warner Bros. Roles & Responsibilities:
We are hiring aSoftware Development Managerto lead the Global Localization Platform team inBangalore this role:
You will guide the development of core services that power localization and global string management across our streaming platforms.
You willcontribute to the technical vision shaping the teams structure in alignment with the Director scalingthis platform globally ensuring that our systems meet thehigh standardsof qualityperformanceand reliability our users expect.
You are an experienced engineering leader who balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

You bring deep technical knowledge across software engineering and systems architecture and are capable of diving into details when needed whether reviewing code analyzing system behavior or guiding architectural decisions.

You communicate effectively across technical and business audiences translating complex ideas into clear plans and decisions.
You help teams make good trade-offs by weighing technical risk deliverytimelinesand long-term sustainability.

Partner with the engineering Director torefineandexecutelong-term goals and roadmapsfor the Global Localization Platform aligningefforts with global WBDstreaming initiatives across platforms such as HBO Max DiscoveryCNNand Bleacher Report.
Buildscaleand manageahigh-performing software engineeringteam. Guideteamstructure hiring decisionsonboardingand retention. Coach individual contributors helping them grow in technical depth and ownership.
Stay technically involved by diving deep into architectural discussions reviewingdesignsandfacilitatingtradeoff decisions. You support teams in evaluating when to build new vs. extend existing services with an emphasis on scalableobservableand resilient systems.
Ensure your teams build production-grade services withstrongfocus on testability performance CI/CDobservabilityand fault tolerance. Drive standards around alerting metricsrunbooksand incident response.
Workclosely with product programmanagementand other engineering leads to ensuretimelydelivery of featuresinfrastructureand cross-cutting initiatives. Facilitate alignment across teams and manage interdependencies balancing speedqualityand scope.
Cultivate a high-trustinclusiveand empowering engineering culture. Model psychological safety openfeedbackand knowledge sharing. Take an active role in creating a space where engineers at all levels feel heardvaluedand motivated to do their best work.
Implement and improve team rituals and agile practices. Track progress proactivelyremoveblockersand support iterative delivery of complex multi-quarter efforts. Balance tactical execution with long-term platform health and strategic goals.
Represent the team inorgplanning. Clearly communicate prioritiesprogressand risks to stakeholders adapting message based on technical depth.Contribute todiscussions with peersmanagerand stakeholders.
What to Bring:
13 - 15 years of software engineering experience - Fullstack including at least 3 years in engineering leadership managingateampotentially organizedintopods.
Proven experienceleading distributed teams and complex software platformsin a fast-paced product organization.
Deep technical understanding ofcloud-native architectures microservices and distributed systems ideally with experience in JavaandReact/TypeScriptstacks.
Hands-on experience withAWS services(Lambda DynamoDB API GatewayEventBridge S3 Step Functions CloudWatch)CI/CD pipelinescontainer orchestration(Docker Kubernetes)and observability tooling (Prometheus Kibana PagerDuty).
Strong ability totranslate product vision into technical execution balance short-term and long-termneedsand make pragmatic architectural trade-offs.
Demonstrated success inbuilding inclusive diverse teamsand mentoring engineerstoward sustained career growth.
Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills able to clearly explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong alignment with customer needs and business goals. Youbuild withempathy for both internal tool users and external global audiences.
Prior experience withlocalization systems translation workflows or multi-language content management is highly desirable.
Bachelors orMasters degree in Computer Scienceor equivalent practical experience.
