Senior Data Project Manager - Asia Data Office
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Project Manager to lead the initiation planning execution and governance of complex data initiatives across the Asia region. This role focuses on data analytics business intelligence (BI) AI transformation and data governance projects ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and enterprise data strategy. The ideal candidate will have strong project management expertise deep understanding of data platforms and analytics tools and the ability to manage stakeholders risks and compliance requirements effectively.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Project Initiation & Business Case Development
Develop business cases and initiative financials to support investment decisions and secure approvals.
Define project objectives scope and success criteria in collaboration with business stakeholders.
Prepare cost estimates resource requirements and benefit realization plans.
2. Project Planning & Delivery
Lead end-to-end project management of data analytics BI AI enablement and data governance projects across multiple markets.
Create detailed project plans timelines and deliverables ensuring adherence to company governance practices and SDLC standards.
Apply Agile Scrum or hybrid methodologies for efficient and adaptive delivery.
Facilitate architecture review sessions to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with enterprise standards.
3. Project Governance & Stakeholder Management
Host Project Steering Committees (SteerCo) and provide transparent reporting on progress risks and issues.
Seek support and guidance from project sponsors and stakeholders to resolve escalations and align priorities.
Ensure compliance with company project governance frameworks and approval processes.
4. Risk Issue & Compliance Management
Identify assess and manage project risks and issues implementing mitigation strategies and escalation protocols.
Support Information Risk Assessment Operational Risk Assessment and Compliance Assessment for all initiatives.
Ensure adherence to global data governance requirements and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Financial & Resource Management
Manage project budgets cost tracking and financial forecasts throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet delivery timelines and quality standards.
6. People & Team Leadership
Manage project teams ensuring clear roles responsibilities and accountability.
Support Product Owners and Delivery Leads in achieving project objectives.
Foster collaboration and continuous improvement within cross-functional teams.
7. Performance Monitoring Benefits Realization & Project Closure
Track project KPIs benefits realization and ROI ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Provide regular reporting to leadership on delivery status financials and performance metrics.
Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance project efficiency.
Execute project closure activities including final deliverable validation lessons learned documentation stakeholder sign-off and transition to operations/support teams.
Ensure all compliance risk and governance requirements are met before formal project closure.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Information Systems Data Science Computer Science Business Analytics or related field.
8 years of experience in project management with at least 3 years managing data-related initiatives.
Proven track record of delivering data analytics BI and AI transformation projects.
Strong knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (Azure AWS GCP) BI tools (Power BI Tableau) and AI technologies.
Familiarity with data governance frameworks compliance standards and SDLC practices.
Expertise in risk management financial planning and stakeholder engagement.
PMP PRINCE2 or Agile certifications are highly desirable.
Industry experience in insurance or financial services is a plus.
