Job Summary
Join Our School Kitchen Team!
Were looking for friendly reliable and enthusiastic individuals to help make lunchtimes a great experience for our pupils. If you enjoy working with children and have a passion for great customer service this could be the perfect role for you! This post is to provide cover for our schools in the local area. Reliable transport is required for this position. Mileage will be paid at the agreed NLC rate and paid monthly.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Helping prepare and serve nutritious school meals
- Setting up and clearing the dining area
- Washing up and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy
- Supporting the cook with food prep and cooking
- Following hygiene and safety procedures
- Completing kitchen paperwork (e.g. cleaning schedules temperature logs)
What Were Looking For:
- A caring attitude and a team spirit
- Good communication skills especially with children
- Basic literacy and numeracy
- Awareness of food hygiene allergens and safeguarding
- Willingness to complete training (e.g. Manual Handling Food Hygiene)
This is a physically active role in a busy school kitchen so youll need to be comfortable with standing lifting and working at pace. Flexibility is appreciated especially during school events.
