Job Summary

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment for domestic and overseas candidates across Hospitals Nursing Homes Home Care and Community Care settings.

We are currently hiring a Staff Nurse Patient Lounge for a leading Hospital in Dublin Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Independently carry out duties and take full responsibility for the care of assigned patients.

  • Adhere to all professional standards outlined by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland Code of Conduct.

  • Perform all nursing duties in line with Hospital policies including the safe handling administration and management of medications.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a high standard of nursing care.

  • Continuously update and maintain clinical knowledge including completing mandatory training such as BLS and Manual Handling.

  • When patients are admitted through the Discharge Lounge complete nursing assessments summarise relevant information and identify nursing diagnoses and care needs.

  • Observe monitor and record patient signs symptoms behaviours and overall physiological status.

  • Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation in accordance with hospital guidelines.

  • Implement individualised care plans for admitted patients following hospital policy.

  • Deliver nursing interventions that align with the patients medical care plan.

  • Carry out admission discharge and transfer procedures and assist others with patient care tasks as needed.

  • Follow physician orders ensuring the safe administration of medications and treatments.

  • Report any changes in a patients condition to the appropriate nursing or medical staff.

  • Use proper aseptic techniques and follow isolation and infection control procedures.

  • Assess and evaluate patient responses to care provided.

  • Determine patient understanding and adherence to health-care instructions and education.

  • Recognise potential hazards within the Discharge Lounge (e.g. electrical chemical transport risks) and take appropriate preventive actions.

  • Monitor equipment to ensure safe operation reporting any issues to the Discharge Coordinator or deputy.

  • Support duty roster planning by offering flexibility to ensure adequate staffing.

  • Rotate across all required specialties as directed by the Nursing Manager.

  • Communicate any issues or concerns to the Discharge Coordinator or Nursing Supervisor.

  • Ensure patients families and significant others understand the discharge process.

  • Participate fully in supervising and supporting patients dietary and meal-related needs.

  • Delegate tasks appropriately based on the skills and knowledge of the team member.

  • Handle complaints effectively and professionally.

  • Act as deputy for the Discharge Coordinator when required.

  • Participate in all unit and hospital communication processes.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information in line with professional standards.

  • Engage in performance reviews with the Nurse Manager.




  • Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse with current NMBI registration.

  • Preferably 3 years experience in an acute hospital ward setting.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Shows motivation and an innovative approach to work.

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
