Job Description
Ashley Hall is seeking a dedicated energetic and knowledgeable individual to serve as a Varsity Assistant Track Coach. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to develop and implement a competitive and empowering Track and Field program that aligns with Ashley Halls mission of inspiring young women through athletics. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in one or more specialty areas - hurdles throwing events jumping events or sprinting - and a strong commitment to teaching fundamental skills sportsmanship and confidence in student-athletes

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of soccer fundamentals effective communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for mentoring student-athletes in both athletic and personal development.
Major Responsibilities
The most competitive candidates will offer the following qualifications and qualities:
Coaching & Instruction:
Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting structured practices that focus on technical development conditioning and team performance.
Provide specialized coaching in at least one event area (hurdles throws jumps or sprints) offering individualized feedback to help athletes improve technique and achieve personal goals.
Support athletes in understanding event strategy meet preparation and safe training practices.
Mentorship & Leadership:
Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes fostering growth resilience and confidence on and off the track.
Promote a culture of teamwork accountability and respect consistent with Ashley Halls values.
Meet & Event Support:
Assist in meet preparation and management including warm-ups event entries and athlete coordination.
Provide event-side guidance encouragement and tactical support during competitions.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with the Head Coach and Athletics Department to ensure alignment of training scheduling and program goals.
Communicate effectively with student-athletes and families regarding schedules expectations and team updates.
Program & Administrative Support:
Help maintain equipment manage attendance and ensure a safe organized training environment.
Contribute to the long-term development and success of the track and field program by supporting recruiting outreach and skill-building initiatives.
Qualifications
Experience: Prior experience coaching or competing in track and field required; demonstrated expertise in at least one specialty area (hurdles throws jumps or sprints) strongly preferred.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of event-specific training methods fundamentals and safety protocols.
Leadership & Passion: Positive energetic and enthusiastic coach who enjoys mentoring young athletes.
Commitment: Willingness to dedicate afternoons evenings and weekends during the competitive season.
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of the coaching staff and broader Athletics Department team.
Certifications: NFHS Coaching Certification or USATF Level 1 certification preferred. Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
Additional Requirements
Current or ability to attain CPR certification upon hire.
Completion of all required Ashley Hall and SCISA paperwork.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check reference checks and medical requirements.

In Season - 5-6 days of practice and Games
