Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking Visiting Medical Officers in Anaesthesia to join our team atRoyal Prince Alfred Hospital!
We are looking for Visiting Medical Officers in Anaesthesia. The primary purpose of the role of Visiting Medical Officer in Anaesthesia is to provide high quality clinical services in Anaesthesia and to participate in teaching research quality improvement and administrative activities within the Anaesthetics Department and Hospital as required. The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an environment which supports education research and professional development
This is a Visiting Medical officer position in Anaesthesia in a Level 6 Adult Hospital caring for high acuity and complexity patients. The Visiting Medical Officer will be part of a cohesive anaesthetic team who provides specialist anaesthetic services to a broad range of specialities. This will involve collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure clinical services provided are safe and achieve optimal patient outcomes. Depending on the skills and experience there may be an opportunity to participate in the cardiothoracic anaesthetic service. The Visiting Medical Officer may also be credentialed to provide anaesthesia services to the Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics Professor Marie Bashir Centre and Sydney Dental Hospital.
Medical practitioner currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Applicants must have Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.
Positions are currently addition applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from the beginning of the 2026 Clinical Year on 2 February 2026 may be considered.
Salaryand conditions are in accordance withthe NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
