- Act as the main interface on site between the client consultant team and the site construction
- teams.
- Support the project manager on daily coordination activities.
- Manage and lead the technical discipline construction managers.
- To set up processes on site so that there is a robust system on site to manage RFIs construction
- sign off site records site reports non-conformances defects testing and commissioning.
- Comment on the contractors plans for logistics construction method and sequence approvals
- mock ups samples site tests weather records testing and commissioning.
- To review the contractors master and sub programs and provide updates on critical issues during
- site meetings.
- Prepare the site and liaise with other construction professionals before construction work start.
- Check that the contractor has the necessary government and statutory approvals prior to
- construction and as required during the course of construction.
- To undertake daily and regular site walk rounds and inspections.
- Monitor progress onsite for construction and installation.
- Coordinate the production and submission of mock ups and samples
- Manage the site meeting schedule with main contractors and vendors.
- Make proposals where subcontractors and suppliers need to attend key meetings.
- Advise on off site visits and inspections that are required.
- Identify risks and delays and develop solutions for onsite challenges.
- Generate monthly progress report on all construction activities.
- Maintain the change control process with the contractor so that claims are avoided.
- Make safety inspections of the site when work is underway and check regulations relating to health
- safety and the environment (HSE) are being adhered to by all parties. Give stop work notices
- where safety is not being complied with.
- Support the cost and contracts team with input into payments claims and related issues.
- Handover inspections and consolidation of handover documentation
Qualifications :
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience and demonstrated experiences as a Construction Manager with a strong record of managing large-scale complex projects from construction to completion
- Project management experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Architecture or a similar field grade 1 or 2 certificate of supervision construction project management is required
- PMP certification is highly preffered
- Ability to lead large multi-disciplined construction teams with excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiation influence and persuade others
- Good in spoken and written English.
