The Opportunity

As a Resort Operator you will work in a full-time role on a 6-month fixed term contract (40 hours per week) Monday to Friday 7am to 3.30pm at our Visy Glass Penrose Site. There may be an opportunity to extend the contract depending on the business needs.

Reporting to the Quality Assistant Manager your role is to support production and packaging operations through manual and equipment-assisted tasks. You will perform tasks such as resorting packing and culleting glass to assist with maintaining product quality operational efficiency and reducing our held ware inventory. Key responsibilities will include:

Safely operating the resort line including the palletiser / depalletiser.
Tipping defective pallets of glass.
Manual handling and rework of glass.
Moving finished goods; using a forklift (only applicable if licensed).
Recording product movements using RF Scanners.
Accurate record keeping/input of data for traceability purposes.
General housekeeping.

What you will bring to the team

As our new Resort Operator you will have prior experience operating machinery within an industrial/manufacturing environment. A reliable team player with a strong work ethic who has good written and communication skills and processes a strong focus on Health Safety and Environmental practices. Along with the following:

Experience operating a fork hoist and fork hoist licence is preferable but not essential.
Quality control and defect analysis- You will have good attention to detail and an eye for accuracy.
Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
Ability to perform manual handling tasks physical lifting up to 12kg standing and repetitive tasks.
Basic computer skills and SAP experience is an advantage.
