The role

As the Team Lead Applications at Damen Naval you will lead a team of Functional and Technical Application Managers responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and continuous evolution of our critical IT our unique environment where we are building state-of-the-art naval vessels robust and reliable IT systems are the backbone of our complex and massive endeavors.

Your primary focus will be on functional leadership and people development. You will cultivate a collaborative and empowering team environment aligning capacity planning with individual strengths and ambitions and expertly delegating tasks. By strategically liaising with diverse IT and business departments youll ensure your team not only delivers high-quality solutions but also directly contributes to the technological prowess essential for designing and constructing the most advanced naval vessels.

Key accountabilities
In this role your responsibilities will include:

• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Functional andTechnical Application Managers fostering collaboration and professional growth.

• Oversee the design development integration and lifecycle management of IT applications stepping in only for escalation.

• Act as the primary point of contact for collaboration with other IT teams and business stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with functional and non-functional requirements.

• Manage vendor relationships to ensure services align with team and organizational goals.

• Lead recruitment efforts and actively support your teams professional development.

Skills & experience
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability in leading and coaching teams of skilled professionals creating a collaborative and productive work culture.

• The ability to break down large projects into actionable tasks to delegate effectively.

• Exceptional people management skills to inspire and guide team members in achieving their goals.

• Proficiency in managing vendor relationships and staying ahead of industry trends to drive innovation.

• Fluency in Dutch and English both written and spoken.

• Excellent references as a security screening is part of the hiring process.

• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
