IT Chapter Lead Risk & Platform (Consumer Loans & Insurance)

We are seeking a passionate IT Chapter Lead - Risk & Platform to strengthen our Consumer Loans & Insurance domain leading a team focused on risk resilience and platform excellence. This role is ideal for a technology leader passionate about fostering a secure resilient and highquality IT this role youll combine leadership with handson engineering raising craftsmanship and enabling secure reliable solutions.

The team
Consumer Loans & Insurance domain within the Products domain leading the Risk and Platform team. We have 3 squads responsible for the Platform and Risks which are globally staffed over The Netherlands India and Philippines.

Roles and responsibilities

As an IT Chapter Lead you will guide a team of engineers specializing in both development as well as operations. Your responsibilities include:

• Leadership & Development: Mentor and coach engineers to enhance technical expertise domain knowledge and system understanding.

• Hands-On Contribution: Actively participate in squad activities focusing on automation tooling resilience and security to ensure smooth delivery of features.

• Operational Excellence: Maintain a safe compliant and standardized IT environment that is reliable documented and risk aware.

• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with IT Area Leads and other Chapter Leads to define and execute a vision that inspires innovation and continuous improvement.

• Knowledge Sharing: Promote best practices through workshops presentations and documentation setting new standards for technology

How to succeed

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

• Experience in leadership roles especially in large organizations or the financial industry is an advantage.

• Excellent analytical architectural and communication skills.

• Proven expertise in IT DevOps Linux databases and CI/CD tools (Git Jenkins TFS Maven Ansible Sonar Azure DevOps).

• Experience with monitoring tools (ELK Prometheus) containerization (Docker) and scripting languages (PowerShell Bash Python).

• Strong understanding of networks risk management and security concepts.

• Ensure IT systems comply with internal policies regulatory requirements and ING standards supporting audits and governance activities.

• Work closely with engineering first- and second-line risk management and business teams to embed IT risk awareness into projects and advise on risk-related decisions.

• Implement and maintain IT risk controls security measures and mitigation strategies to reduce vulnerabilities and ensure system resilience.

• Familiarity with incident problem solving and change management for high-availability systems.
