Position Overview/Project Details:
This position requires a California-licensed Pharmacy Technician working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The technician will be responsible for the packaging preparation and sterile compounding of intravenous medications as well as injectable medications including chemotherapy and other biohazardous drugs. All duties must be performed in accordance with USP < 797> and < 800> standards institutional protocols and safety guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
At least 6 months of performing related duties as a pharmacy technician
Licensed pharmacy technician license in good standing with California Board of Pharmacy
Minimum Education:
High School or equivalent or Post High School vocational/specialized training or Graduation from a foreign school of Pharmacy
Special Qualifications/Certifications Required:
N/A

The technician may spend 5-6 hours a day performing compounding duties in a sterile environment which requires specific garbing and cleanroom etiquette. The technician should be advised that he or she will be working with hazardous medications under the protection of Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. gowns masks gloves etc.) per institution protocol.
