Job Summary

IT Technician for User Services Team of Information Technology Services (Ref.: 533683)

Information Technology Services provides central IT services to support the Universitys teaching learning research and administrative activities. ITS is transforming its organization to support its new strategic development and strategic adoption of new technologies.

Information about ITS can be obtained at Role

Providing technical support to end users;

Ensuring the proper functioning of users desktops laptops and other devices;

Working closely with other teams to provide timely and effective solutions to end-user issues;

Resolving both hardware and software issues; and

Performing any other duties assigned by CIO or his/her delegates.

Qualifications and Qualities

A diploma (or above) in Information Technology or related disciplines

A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)

Strong communication analytical and problem-solving skills

Self-motivated and a team player

Certifications of ITIL and CompTIA A and relevant working experience in project management are preferred.

Applicants should have knowledge of or experience in some of the following areas:

Providing technical support to end-users either in-person or remotely

Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues and escalating issues to second-tier support when necessary

Resolving network connectivity problems

Hands-on experience in maintenance of LAN sockets and testing network cable connectivity

Hands-on experience in supporting both Windows and MAC platforms

Hands-on experience in supporting iOS and Android devices

VIP supporting

Responsible for installing and configuring various hardware and software components such as printers desktops laptops Operating Systems and productivity software

Ensuring that all systems and equipment are in compliance with corporate policies and legal requirements such as data privacy laws and regulations

Hands-on experience in supporting computer-based audio-visual solutions including webcasting video streaming and video conferencing

Familiar with live streaming and video conference solutions and software management (experience with Microsoft Teams Zoom and knowledge of different end-point devices are preferred)

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
