Pay

HK$158552 to HK$182669 (HGPS point 45-49) per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities

1.	Provide specialist services.
2.	Supervise Residents undergoing specialist training.
3.	Undertake administrative work.
4.	Undergo continuing medical education and professional development.
5.	Conduct research as appropriate.

Entry Requirements

1.	Registered medical practitioner under the Medical Registration Ordinance; and
2.	Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Medicine) or equivalent; and
3.	Registered in the Specialist Register in the relevant specialty of the Medical Council of Hong Kong.

Preferable Attributes/Exposure

Staff members in the rank are expected to meet the 4 core competencies set for the Associate Consultant post. They are:

- People and team competency.

- Organization effectiveness

Contribution to professional development including research teaching and training.

Experience in provision of cluster-based service in Endocrinology Diabetes and Metabolism including consultation services in both acute and convalescent hospitals is preferred.

Remarks

The selected candidate is expected to provide supervision of the service in Diabetes Mellitus Centres of Queen Mary Hospital and Grantham Hospital and may be required to work in other hospitals of HKWC.

Candidates who have not acquired the requirements under 2 and 3 but passed the exit examination and completed the necessary specialist training requirements on or before the on-line application deadline if found suitable for appointment may be appointed to the post subject to their production of the required qualifications i.e. FHKAM and specialist registration within 12 months after appointment to the post. Documental proofs are required.
