Job Summary

Te Whiwhinga mahi The Opportunity

Youll be the bridge between how work is imagined and how its actually done. Your days will be spent where the action happenslistening learning and supporting our people to do their best work safely. Heres a few things we think will help you get more of a feel for the role: 

  • Exploring Everyday Work: Get curious at the work fronts understanding what helps teams succeed and what gets in their way. 
  • Supporting Work Practices: Cooperate with front-line teams to create safe dependable ways of working. 
  • Predicting and Preventing Risks: Work with teams to identify future challenges and areas of uncertainty. 
  • Facilitating Learning: Help individuals teams and the wider system learn from both everyday work and unexpected events. 
  • Championing Process Safety: Encourage a questioning attitude about what could go wrong and how we can prevent it. 
  • Ensuring Compliance: Support alignment with Contacts H&S policies and management systems and help teams meet legislative requirements. 

Qualifications :

Youll thrive in this role if you have: 

  • Experience in Health and Safety within an industrial environment. 
  • Experience managing project and contractor health and safety. 
  • High interpersonal capabilityable to build trust and effective relationships at all levels. 
  • Skilled facilitation and communication both verbal and written. 
  • Confidence to influence and engage groups and deliver H&S education. 
  • Integrity and high personal and professional standards. 
  • A humanistic people-first approach to safety. 
  • The ability to empower others to challenge what doesnt feel right and own safety at the work front. 
  • A collaborative spiritready to work closely with our Health & Safety and Generation teams. 

Additional Information :

This role would be preferably based at our Clyde Power Station in the South Island and you will need to travel between our hydro power stations.
