Ko tōu ake mahi - What youll do

Seeking an Advisor to join the Māori Health Insights and Monitoring team.

In this role youll use your analytical skills to generate meaningful insights that support high-quality advice and improve health outcomes for Māori.

Youll work across the Ministry and the wider health and disability sector to contribute to Pae Ora healthy futures for Māori in a collaborative purpose-driven environment.

  • Apply both quantitative and qualitative approaches to collect analyse and share insights that support Māori health policy and monitoring efforts
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships across the Ministry and with external partners to promote equity and uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments
  • Use statistical tools modelling techniques and data visualisation to interpret health datasets and guide evidence-based decisions
  • Create clear and engaging reports briefings and presentations tailored to both technical and general audiences
  • Contribute to cross-agency initiatives champion data sovereignty and stay informed on emerging developments in Māori health data.

Ko ngā pūkenga ōu - What youll bring

  • A tertiary qualification in a discipline with a strong focus on data and analytics or equivalent experience
  • Sound data analysis skills and a good attention to detail
  • An ability or experience working with real world large data sets and information
  • Experience working with analytical tool sets for data manipulation modelling and data visualisation
  • Prior work or projects in the Māori Data space would be advantageous.
