Role & responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for forging castings and other raw materials finished components aligning procurement decisions with long-term business goals and product roadmaps.
- Identify evaluate and onboard high-quality domestic and international suppliers with a strong emphasis on capabilities relevant to auto component manufacturing.
- Establish and monitor stringent supplier performance metrics (Quality Cost Delivery and Service - QCDS). Drive supplier relationship management (SRM) to foster strategic long-term partnerships.
- Spearhead cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives through systematic negotiation benchmarking and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) programs in collaboration with R&D and Engineering teams.
- Conduct complex price negotiations manage commodity price fluctuations and provide accurate material cost forecasts to senior management.
- Draft review negotiate and finalize all major procurement contracts long-term agreements (LTAs) and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with suppliers.
- Ensure all sourcing and contracting activities comply with company policies legal requirements and ethical standards. Mitigate supply chain risks particularly related to single-sourcing and geopolitical volatility.
- Work closely with Finance (for budgeting/forecasting) Quality (for supplier quality assurance) and Operations (for timely material flow) to ensure alignment.
Preferred candidate profile:
- A bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical/ Automotive/ Production)
- 14 - 20 years of experience in materials management procurement and distribution in the auto components or manufacturing industry.
- Experience in Supplier and components development of castings and forgings.
- Cost reduction initiatives thru VA / VE Negotiation Localization.
- Subcontracting process knowledge negotiation and commercial skill and knowledge in various manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of SAP advanced proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis for decision-making.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing supply chain best practices and vendor relationship management.
