Are you an experienced health leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people Hunter New England Health is seeking a dynamic and resilient District OOHC Coordinator to lead the Out of Home Care Health Pathways Program across the district.
In this pivotal leadership role you will operationally manage a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering health assessments and care planning for children entering statutory Out of Home Care. With a team of approximately 15 staff across nursing allied health paediatrics and administration you will guide service delivery across a dispersed geographic area and ensure the program continues to deliver culturally competent trauma-informed high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide operational management and strategic leadership to a district-wide multidisciplinary OOHC team.
Lead recruitment onboarding and retention to maintain a skilled and engaged workforce across diverse locations and part-time arrangements.
Ensure effective systems and processes are in place to meet client needs track performance and uphold the Excellence Framework (Every Patient Every Time).
Embed culturally safe practice and foster strong relationships with Aboriginal communities and key partner agencies.
Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal services external agencies and the broader human services sector.
Provide expert guidance on child health assessment processes and ensure alignment with NSW Health OOHC Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Manage program resources workload prioritisation and reporting requirements.
Navigate competing priorities with agility and confidence ensuring staff are supported when working with complex and vulnerable populations
About You
You will be a proactive compassionate leader with:
Relevant qualifications in health management leadership nursing or allied health.
Experience providing healthcare to vulnerable or at-risk populations ideally children and young people.
Strong capability in leading multidisciplinary teams including those working across dispersed locations.
Exceptional communication negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and complex matters.
Demonstrated ability to switch between strategic priorities and operational demands with agility.
Commitment to cultural safety reflective supervision and continuous improvement.
