MUST HAVE/OBTAIN FLU VACCINATION MUST HAVE CERTIFICATIONS AT TIME OF SUBMISSION MUST SUBMIT 2 PROFESSIONAL REFERENCES AT TIME OF SUBMISION Job DescriptionJob Description Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the JobScrubs in on surgical procedures under professional nurse supervision for many different advanced and complex types of the surgeon s preference for certain materials or instruments and be able to respond to these preferences in advance. Updates Nurse as necessary based on continuing assessment of equipment needs and physician preferences; demonstrates sound clinical judgment; adaptable to changing patient up sterile table with instruments equipment supplies and medications/solutions needed for surgical apart and reassembles any instrument or piece of equipment that needs cleaning (within the scope of instructed nursing personnel duties) and prepares instruments for terminal supplies and instruments to assure sterility of materials used furthering Quality Assurance of patient monitors assigned services supplies and order as educational programs and learning aids for the area/department (i.e. in-service classes special projects learning aids patient care standards).Provides input regarding the need for change in policies procedures and patient care up call for emergency cases that may require two surgical technicians. Other FunctionsParticipates in assigned duties as assigned. Education Certifications and Licenses RequiredHigh School Diploma or GED Completion of a technologist training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or any accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) Current BLS certificationExperience Required1 year experience preferred. Knowledge ofAnatomy and physiology with appropriate instrumentation suturing materials needles prosthetic devices and other suppliesWound healing and complicationsNormal growth development and life cycle changes including physical behavioral characteristics of individuals for which nursing care is provided. Skills inSterile technique and processingPatient positioning Ability toHandle requests that are made during the surgery.
Shift: Tuesday - Friday 10 hours per day Also requires on-call
