Position Summary: Performs a variety of imaging procedures consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Gives straightforward explanations and instructions to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.
- Operates and maintains all assigned imaging department equipment including but not limited to x-ray.
- Positions patients and uses radiologic equipment to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
- Accurately performs all imaging exams as ordered in accordance with established policies procedures regulations and laws; ensures the physician on duty is notified of the results.
- Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients staff and self.
- Maintains all required documentation logs charts forms and records in paper and electronic formats.
- Maintains an adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing.
- Performs all routine daily weekly monthly and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment.
- Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Lead Essential Functions and Responsibilities (If classified in a Lead Role):
- Assists in quality control and performance improvement activities.
- Contributes to performance feedback hiring decisions.
- Ensures standards are met (quality timeliness customer service etc.).
- Evaluates and tests new procedures/processes.
- Orients and/or trains new staff.
- Problem solving capabilities.
- Subject matter expert/technical leadership.
- Work flow/distribution of work.
- Assists in assuring compliance with all regulatory and other agency requirements laws and statutes pertaining to the operation of the department.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
- Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
- Current BLS certification.
Preferred:
- Associate degree in radiology.

Sedentary Work: Lifting 10 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying such
articles as dockets ledgers and small tools. Although sedentary job is defined as one which
involves sitting a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out
job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and
other sedentary criteria are met.
Light Work: Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects
weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible
amount a job is in this category when it requires walking or standing to a significant
